Smoke Detector Addendum THIS ADDENDUM dated: Will become a part of the original lease or rental agreement dated: Between Owner/ Agent: and Resident, for the residence located at: State_____________City_________Zip______ Smoke Detector : You acknowledge that as of this date, all of the smoke detectors installed in said unit are operable at the time of move-in and are in located following locations: ___________________________________ __________________________________ Inspection: You agree that it is your duty to regularly test the smoke detector(s) and agree to notify property manager immediately in writing of any problem, malfunction or failure. You must agree to test these smoke detectors monthly. Repair: You must maintain these smoke detectors by replacing the batteries on an as needed basis, unless they are wired into the electrical circuitry. All battery replacement and replacement cost are your responsibility. Maintenance: If after replacing the battery, the smoke detector will not operate you must inform management immediately in writing that there is a malfunction in the smoke detector. Term: The term of this Addendum shall be the same term as lease renewal or extension of rental agreement.
